Chicago Manual of Style Online - The online version of the 16th edition of the manual provides recommendations on editorial style and publishing practices in the digital age. Access also includes the Chicago Style Q&A, the 15th edition of the manual, and tools such as sample correspondence, proofreaders' marks and a quick guide to citation.

Credo Reference Books - Find information on any topic. Credo provides access to hundreds of in-depth encyclopedias and handbooks covering every major subject; over 300,000 images and audio files and millions of full-text encyclopedia entries.

Gale Virtual Reference Library - via Gale's cross-searchable platform, Artemis. Search over 1200 reference e-book titles, as well as Something About the Author and Literature Criticism Online.

HathiTrust - The HathiTrust Digital Library is an immense collection of resources in digital form from over 60 institutions worldwide. Their mission is to curate and preserve the cultural record, making it accessible for future generations. The library contains both public domain and copyright protected works. At this time FHSU users are able to freely access the public domain works in HathiTrust.

Literature Criticism Online - LCO is a curated compilation of literary commentary. Cross-search seven (7) titles previously available only on Forsyth Library's Reference Collection shelves: Nineteenth Century Literature Criticism, Twentieth-Century Literary Criticism, Contemporary Literary Criticism, Poetry Criticism, Short Story Criticism, Children's Literature Review and Something About the Author. These resources provide scholarly and popular commentary from broadsheets, pamphlets, encyclopedias, books and periodicals, and represent a broad range of modern and historical views on authors and their works, across regions, eras and genres.

Something About the Author - Consisting of more than 225 volumes, 19,000 entries, and nearly 17,000 images, this resource examines the lives and works of authors and illustrators of books for children and young adults. But if you need more than just biographical information you can cross-search this resource with Literature Criticism Online and obtain additional information about the author's works, era, genres, criticism and analysis.

If Forsyth Library does not have book you need, you may request it from another library through InterLibrary Loan.

Resource Trials

Forsyth Library participates in  trials of electronic resources for review by faculty, students and staff of Fort Hays State University.
